Honestly, no exaggeration, I don't think I've ever been more disappointed by a movie than I was with Death Proof. I agree that Planet Terror's the better of the two. Death Proof's first half is great, but then it unravels; not even personal fave Kurt Russell or the adorable Rosario Dawson can save it. Man, what's with all the Death Proof hate? It was certainly odd, but I think in the end it was very worth it, I barely remember Planet Terror but Death Proof made a huge impact on me.
I would say death proof first, because it's a lot less action packed and more slow paced than planet terror, so I think both would be enjoyed more if you watched death proof first.
In the theater, after planet terror ended I was all pumped, and was expecting that same level of action from death proof and it wasn't there. That being said, death proof is still a good movie in it's own right, just not the same kind of movie as planet terror.
Both were bad; Death Proof was just pretentious and boring, Planet Terror was just gross and not in a good way. I fucking loved Death Proof.
