By Liz Patt lizexmachina. How to choose your class Class choice is a particular beastie. So here are a few factors to consider when selecting a class: What are your goals? Whatever your goals, they can have a significant impact on your first steps in the new Season.
What are the Starter Sets for the Season? Class sets are effectively on a rotation per Season, so even before the announcement, you can do a quick search online and put forward a solid guess as to what will be available. What set build ticks most of your boxes? Survivability is likely your top requirement for both build and playstyle, so that you may look for a class with more defensive skills. Knowing how you want to play is just as important as knowing what you want to do.
The Crusader is also an ideal class if you want to get up close and personal while demolishing the forces of Hell. The Seeker of the Light starting set and the associated Blessed Hammer build tend to be a throwback to the D2 Paladin experience. The set bonuses focus around the Falling Hammer ability, which is taken off cooldown faster by your use of Blessed Hammer.
As always, if you get bored, you can switch over to the Gears of the Dreadlands set that made the last three seasons a wild, spinny ride. Definitely not my strongest suit, but pretty fun when combined with the Grasps of Essense and Corpse Explode. For this, I may be able to disregard the giant spider. You have to create your Seasonal character and log in to that character before you complete the rift. You need to wait until the Season starts before completing the Challenge Rift. Kick-start your Season 24 leveling There are a few more things you can do to give your Seasonal Character a strong start. This is how my typical Season start plays out: Play in Adventure Mode. Hire a follower — Enchantress, Scoundrel, or Templar — to lend a hand as you go, especially since the follower system revamp. Upgrade your weapon. Hit the merchants to get an upgraded weapon.
Some recommend grabbing the weapon from one of your followers; you can do this, but the merchants may have better options, and you have the gold from your challenge cache. Live a little! You will need it for the next steps. From there, your biggest priority as you level up is to stay on top of upgrading your weapon. A boosted ability is yours, right from the onset!
Easy leveling for solo players There is a known optimal path for leveling in Season — burning through Nephalem rifts in a 4-person group. Personally, I prefer not to craft Level 70 items in advance. The first ones I find are equipped. When I find better versions, or better items, I equip those and cube the lower-level ones.
I start with Bounties to hopefully find Blacksmith Plans. The only exception would be those needed to complete Season Journey Objectives. From this point on, alternate between Bounties, Rifts and Greater Rifts.
Chapter 4 requires killing all 4 Keywardens, marked on the World Map, whether they drop Infernal Machines or not. It is only necessary if you plan on equipping a Hellfire Amulet or want a Hellfire Ring for you or your Follower. Check your Season Journey often. You can complete the Objectives in any order. I believe this is optional now that Blizzard allows us to look ahead at our Journey progress.

All 5 acts. This is the first season I chose to level to 70 by doing a challenge ride and then adventure mode. Just because. Maybe with my main season character. Maybe with a new one. I have never started with a challenge rift. Emmo You're probably better off upgrading rares in Kanai's cube and buying mystery gear from Kadala than you are crafting.
I could be wrong, but I've only crafted while I was leveling to Once there I just grind shards, death's breaths, and bounty caches and take my chances through the cube. I also reforged my legendary weapon yesterday through the cube and got an Ancient on my first try.
It was pretty cool. I do get good drops sometimes. I had been waiting for weeks for The Furnace to drop for my Witch Doctor. I finally found two of them on Saturday. Also compass rose ring finally dropped after a couple of weeks of waiting. It's brutal but it's part of the game. Back to , crafting was amazing. Several builds used crafted itens, like Cains and Alguhild sets.
There was even a pet build just with Carmesin set But since main character sets got so powerful, crafted itens just became leveling itens.
